It seems that at at 67, I am a minority Obama supporter and find myself wondering what others in this age group are thinking with regard to the FUTURE of our country?!
I brought my three adult children up to be responsible, prayed for them to be healthy and intelligent, to always celebrate different cultures, religions, mores etc. I was a single Mom when it wasn’t supported in any way. They all voted yesterday; for Barack Obama I am proud to say.
I’ve done so many things wrong in my life; moved those kids all over the place; made very wrong partner choices however: I raised some mighty fine kids and that’s the best part of all of it. The next generation; 5 grandchildren are in for a great ride!
And an additional sweet thing: I was in the middle of a procedure this a.m. with another RN, the phy.and tech. The other RN has a 5yr old dtr. After school yesterday, her Mother asked her if the kids voted in school. With a yes reply, her Mother asked her if she knew who was running for President. The sweet child said: John McCain and Taco Cobama! Whatever works….we’ll take it. Even Taco Cobama!

Did she vote for Taco Cobama?! lol
Well, my 9 year old niece thinks it’s awesome that Obama is the president elect, but even more interesting to me, is that although she understand the historical value if this election…she also never doubted that a black man could be president…so that’s “kinda no big deal” in her eyes.
Isn’t it great that has time passes, we are learned to look at people less as black or white, but more so as people.
